Lost fish, and lost gear
I'm back in the US! After getting a NY license, I went to a lake that I know has some nice bluegill fishing. Access to the side where I've observed nests was closed, so I was forced to fish on the tree and poison ivy infested side. Thankfully, the fishing was amazing. I lost a lot of jigs, and 2 crickhoppers to the trees, as the bluegill were nesting underneath. Unfortunately, using 2 lb line and an ultralight does not lend itself well to wrestling fish out of the fallen trees that were on the way from the nests to the shore. Lost a lot of fish, I'd estimate about 20, but I did land a nice few! Also got a crappie from the fallen tree, which was a surprise, but it came off about 6 inches from shore. I couldn't set the hook well because pulling in any direction would cross my line with a tree branch. Attachment 432988Attachment 432989Attachment 432990Attachment 432991Attachment 432992

Welcome back and hopefully you work out how to get them in your hand before they say goodbye.

Yes, sometimes the best are in the most difficult places. Ugh, hate poison ivy and tick infested undergrowth!
