Slow week this week
Fished all week, crappie bite pretty slow. Only thing I can figure is another mayfly hatch, man how many times do these things hatch, you look across the cove and hundreds of mayflies still floating on the water. Today we (me and my dad) only caught 7 crappie, and 7 catfish. Man all the crappie were at least 1 pounders, all the catfish were 20 inches or so. I will be glad to see these mayflies go away.

Be happy you are on the water. Catching is a bonus. :)
It's been so hot here in Texas that I finally had to admit defeat and shorten or stop my mid-day trips. When the heat index is 116 degrees it's time to watch Youtube crappie videos instead of being on the lake.
Seven might not seem like many but think of all the fun you had catching those seven. :ThumbsUp:ThumbsUp

At least you didn’t get skunked. And time with your Dad! Winner on both fronts

Buckeyecrappie there is no one I would rather fish with than my dad, thanks.

Time spent on the water is always great. Especially time spent with your dad.

the crappie fish are often difficult to obtain in the dog days of the summer , but some beats none for sure ,,,,
KABOOM is the word

Glad you could get out. Mighty slow here because of the heat and crazy humidity. What with some health issues I’m not pushing it. We just took a walk at 6:30 am and you could feel the heat.

7 - 1lb crappies is 14 filets. That's a perfect meal for us. Spending time with your family is priceless. Enjoy it !!! Glad you got out !!!!
