A buddy gave me a paddle tail lure I was skeptical would work but it caught fish.

The action is a tight vibration of the body due to the paddle tail flutter. I don't see me using anything except a 1/32 oz jig, but it still casts a nice distance and goes down fast enough in 4-6'. I have the mold and will make some soon.
I like paddle tail baits . One of my favorites is a Slider grub .
I like em myself. I used a 1” Charlie brewer this morning. First hit tore the tail off. Such is my luck. Sometimes they’re the only thing that works.
the long fine tails often get chomped off by sunfish , we have several versions in these parts we use , the little froggy one gets one of its legs bit off first cast if there is a sunfish nearby ....:banghead
By comparison does anyone still use Sassy Shads and similar designs? I haven't cast them in years and still have over 400 in different sizes stored away collecting dust.
I’ll toss a sassy shad during the shad spawn in May. I do better though with my own underspins during the shad spawn and longlining during the spring.

I've used 1, 1.5,2, 2.5 and 3 inch swimsuits. All catch them but sometimes more are caught with the smaller or larger ones. Gotta keep the fish happy.
