Fishing Tidal Effected Waters

Guys I fish all over for crappie. I fish river systems, dead lakes, lakes even some very large stock ponds. But my love is river systems.
But I am looking for advice to increase my catch’s and gain more knowledge on waters effected by the tide or brackish water systems. When is the most active time for crappie to feed in tide effected waters. They feed to a different beat than say rivers or lakes that aren’t effected by tide movement or should I say not moving. I appreciate your advice and knowledge.

I have always done better on a falling tide myself. Old timers believe it was because the falling water was pulling food out of the shallow areas. Been quite a few years since I fished tidal rivers and brackish waters

I'd say it Depends. :0)

I feesh a few rivers that are affected by da tide. I do find the bite better on a falling tide. As long as it's not to strong.

Dat said I know a fellow dat feeshes da Pearl river and he swears da sac bite is best at a slack tide on da Pearl.

Fellows I appreciate the knowledge and advice. This is what I was hoping for getting was a lot of different success. As we all know there is no etched in stone way of catching fish. But they are some of those local tricks that work almost everywhere.

The area I fished was the Mobile River Delta. Boyou Sara in Saraland

I don't fish a tide controlled river but on our live oxbows it seems to be a better bite on a falling river gauge. As long as it's a .6 to .8 tenths per day fall. Anything pulling harder than that, it's harder to find fish. It maybe just me!

Good info on river changes. I pay very close attention to detail. So I will watch that on my rivers that I presently fish that aren’t tide controlled but do have level changes often.
