The other creek
There is another creek very close by that also empties into the Ohio that I have been checking out lately. A bit larger and faster moving than the one I have been fishing. There was a fungicide spill last July quite a few miles upstream that resulted in thousands of dead fish in a 7-10 mile area. DEP never did find out who was responsible. The other day while looking for areas to fish I ran into a young guy fishing and stayed and talked with him for a good amount of time. While I was there talking about the creek, he caught two nice walleyes and showed me a picture of a saugeye that he had caught the day before out of the same stretch. Today was the first day I fished the creek and the water was still somewhat clouded from the heavy rains from two days ago. Also a lot floating aquatic weeds. Caught these three smallies along with a few other very small ones that all hit Roadrunner style baits.Attachment 430688Attachment 430689Attachment 430690Attachment 430691Attachment 430692Attachment 430693

Heck yeah on walleye and sauger being there. Nice looking smallies. I hope you do some exploring and find a bunch more!

A nice little stretch of water, moon. That floating schmutz may be getting purged after the rain. I find a cleansing on my creek can be a good thing once in a while. Very nice fish! I wish I had a couple more streams closer to my house.

lil creek close to home that has smallies, walleye/sauger and others in it to have fun catching? that's a real bonus besides going to the lakes to get after crappie.

I think HDHNTR hit the nail on the head, BONUS creek. That’s a good name for it. I’ll take smallies like that any day.
