Old friends-new fun

2 fellas I worked with 20 years before I changed careers invited me to fish with them yesterday. It's been 23 years since we've seen each other but the friendship and fun felt like we still working together. We kept 73 bluegills, sunfish and perch. Caught numerous rock bass, gobies, a couple of large mouth and two big dogfish (bowfin/grindle). Best bait was my panfish bug with slab sauce tipped with crappie nibbles, Gulp maggots, waxworms, Slabinator Scent sticks, or a piece of crawler.

These are my buddies. The bass and 10# dogfish were caught on my hand tied panfish bug.

I'm the old guy of our group. Caught this one with a 1/64 jighead, G-sauce, and orange crawfish Slabinator Scent sticks.

Old friends I'm sure made the day more special.

Interestingly over 90% of these fish were males. We saw no evidence of beds. Surface temp was 62 degrees.

Since this isn't the ul sub-forum I can reveal I was using my 7'3" White Bird ml rod made by Favorite, spooled with 4# hi-vis Suffix line. Used a panfish size Rocket bobber to deliver the bait. The whole combo was efficient and fun.
