Osage Arm 06/05

What an awesome day on the lake. Amy piloted the boat and truck and then we caught a few crappie. The fish tale of the day... I was jigging a tree when I saw something turn towards my jig. It hits and I set the hook and start pulling it away from the trees. I was hoping for a 3lb crappie and my eyes turned to saucers when a 28" (At least) Walleye was looking up at me. Instead of "Grab the net," I shouted to Amy grab my rod." When I went to lift it out of the water... well anyone who fishes for Walleye knows the end of this tale. Sounds like a good day anyway!

I so rarely have a net with me but that would be awful to lose a good walleye right at the boat.

The weather was "Most excellent!" I told Amy if she didn't have to work this morning, I would have fished until both our limits were had. I could have sat on the boat with large glass of ice tea.

How much longer do you think it would have taken for her to catch your limit too? :Rofl

Anyone who has done any amount of walleye fishing has lost them at the boat waiting on the net. Happens to the best of us! Still hard to accept, tho!!
