Kayak Trip Report, Swan Creek WMA
I fished Swan Creek today, slow start with only 6 short Crappie for the day. A little before lunch I finally figured out the Gills and steadily caught them until I left. I kept 35 and returned around a hundred more keepers with more little ones than I could count. I tried a dozen things before finally getting on a pattern tossing a small Spinner with a 1" slider on a 1/64 jig head. The fish were on any cover or shade but scattered with never more than a couple from any piece of cover. The water is down to summer levels, muddy with visibility of about 6 or 8 inches and 81 degrees when I left around 5PM.
