Meet Gizmo
Was fooling around, after fooling around all morning tying jigs in my building, and decided to try this.
The jig head weighs .02 oz
Not sure where I got them from but here's what they look like.Attachment 429008Attachment 429009

Interesting. Should swim a little differently. Usually that little bit of difference gets bit

I've tied something like that before with a regular jig hook with no weight. These are from quite a while back so warts and all,
Here's a couple :Attachment 429012Attachment 429013

I've got probably hundreds tied like that hairy one. The box they came out of is labeled skeeters and gnats in my tackle bag.
Right now I have all the tackle out of my boat. Going to try to get a variety for all situations together. Since I haven't been using plastics much I'm going to cut down on them and replace with some small crankbaits, skeeters and gnats, and whatever else I can think of.
This will require some specializing of my current rods to match the tackle.
My fishing trips lately have become very satisfying due to my present attitude. I'm no longer in a hurry, have learned to use my electronics effectively, regularly use the electronics to revisit waypoints, use the mapping feature on my hummingbird to map this lake that doesn't have a chart, and in general mostly just idle around the lake looking and trying spots.
There's the occasional run from one end of the lake to the other, but it's mainly just learning this lake and the fish along with using various techniques and baits while relaxing and having fun.
This becomes especially satisfying when catching good fish on my jigs and even trying to catch fish some of the jigs of questionable character that I have tied.
Anyway, here's the skeeters and gnats box. All the jigs are lightweight but various sizes, and there's more somewhere in storage just in case!Attachment 429020

Another project I have played with. Got mine from Hagen's and only painted them. I caught bluegill yesterday on one of them. Your ties are very cool.

I got my plastics down to three boxes in the aft storage compartments on my boat. There's two other boxes kept up front with more specialized baits in them.
Three boxes were added with tiny crankbaits, medium crankbaits, and spinners and blades.
So the sorting is done, for now at least!
Now to get the rods sorted.
Here's a pic of the rear tackle storage compartments I added to my boat. There's 2 of them on port and starboard side under the rear deck.
Very handy!Attachment 429060

That segmented jig is perfect for an ant/spider pattern.
