What if you continued white onto the thread?

Might could tie the white forward to cover the thread......

Or tie in some flat pearl braid?

Might give that a try.
Going to keep working on this style with different variations and tuning so no telling what may turn up.

I'd shorten the thread body so the hair flairs and pulses more.
