In Myrtle Beach this week on a golf trip with dad. Decided to try a little surf fishing as I always do while at the beach. Didn’t find any ocean crappie, but did find a small ray in the rough surf! Was a fun fight on my ugly stick GX2 combo. Had lots of other bites and hooked a small blue but it came loose right at the shore. I hope tonight’s action is a sign of things to come.

careful along the shoreline at night , them things get really large and get right next the waters edge in numbers in the dark .
saw so many right at the edge off the swimming beach one night it spooked me , was wading in to make a bit longer cast until I realized I was wading right thru herds of them devils , congrats and buyer beware , just saying
I kayaked over the top of a school of them in the fall. Kind of creepy when look down and see them under you every where you look
yeppers no doubt , freaked me out pretty good in the lapping the shore in the dark light surf to look down with my headlamp after I just walked thru a herd to see them frolicking right at my feet !Quote:
