After the storm
We had a front pass through this morning.
By eleven , the rain was over , but the clouds and wind remained.
I swapped out the reel on my new rod , the 13 Fishing 7’ UL for a Kastking Zephyr SFS reel .
A little lighter than the Daiwa and takes a little less effort to get the handle moving .
My arthritis in my index finger on my cranking hand is acting up and every little bit helps .
When slow winding I use my index finger to turn the handle . I’ve probably worn out my finger fishing that way for the past sixty something years .
I fished a variety of jigs today but the most productive was a bright white Bobby garland itty bitty slab Hunter with the tail colored chartreuse on a black 1/32 jighead.
I caught nine total in the two hours I was there .
The wind made it hard to fish at times .
These were the better ones . All gills today .

Great looking gills, time well spent.

Very nice fish. We’re getting that rain right now and is a long lingering one. The water will be blown out for a few days.

Nice gills. Once you get used to easy winding reels (aka low-inertia) is hard to use ones that wind with more resistance.
