Brush Piles
Good day everyone, I made a few brush piles out of oak limbs last summer and wanted to ask if anyone had any idea how long the leaves would stay on. Reason I ask is I cut some low hanging limbs some Bradford Pear trees in the yard. I am about 8 weeks into a knee replacement so it may be 3 or 4 more weeks before I can crawl in the boat. The leaves on the limbs will be drying up and falling off and I was wondering if would still be worth it to sink the limbs without any leaves. Thanks

I would think it would depend on the thickness of the limbs. The leaves will come off pretty easily after they dry, especially during transport. If it were me I would wait and try to make some from bamboo when you are healthy and ready to handle them.

They should work well without the leaves

Bare limbs can help an already good brushpile. With leaves is better IMO but without leaves should still enhance the brushpile. Dont hurt your knee over doing that job though.

You give me hope, I'm getting my right knee replaced at the end of the month. Then the other asap

Do your physical therapy and you will be fine. Had mine done in late Oct and haven’t looked back since. Prayers for a successful procedure and complete healing.
