Area Super Trout INFINITY PE X8 line

For those that have used this line how is it for being able to see it when casting to watch the line while retrieving. Like others as I’ve gotten older the eyes have gone downhill.

Right now I have the Area Super Trout Master Limited Super Premium PE X4 Yellow spooled up. I also have a spool of the Super Trout Advance Sight Edition Green 4lb mono but have not tried it. Reading here and Alphahawk’s channel I’m going to order some Super Trout Advance Twitch Master even though it is champagne colored is supposed to be visible above the water.

With the cost of INFINITY PE X8 I’d like some input before placing an order for it. I’m going to need another reel for the 2^nd rod I have coming, so I may be able to add it to an order from Digitaka or where ever I end up ordering from. Thanks

The twitch master is great line but I don’t think it’s super visible above water. Good line and my favorite (3lb)… I have some of the infinity and it is good line but expensive. Braid usually isn’t my thing but I have been toying with the idea of picking up the avani line which Stan has been using. He likes it a whole lot but it is around 70 bucks a spool (twice the amount of the infinity spool)…. The avani line is white and I think that is a fairly visible color to me. I hope this helps.

The Area Trout Super Infinity 8 Stranded PE line is a great cast and retrieve line......but.....it is not designed to be very visible as compared to the Sight Edition and other brightly colored braided lines. From what I gather through research the line is designed for a stealth approach to catch trout in "Areas", which are big clear man-made ponds over in Japan that are stocked with trout. Of course these stocked trout get line shy after a while, thus the champagne color. I use it for open water cast and retrieve on the boat mainly with 1-1,5g jigheads with plastic baits fishing from shallow to medium (20') depths. I am not a line watcher, rely on the super sensitive JDM rods and this low stretch line to tell me when to set the hook, which is usually just a raise of the rod tip and a turn of the reel handle. I also have been using the Avani Saltwater Finesse 8 stranded braided line with some success, it is white but does stain to a dingy white to tan looking color with our dirty waters here in E TN. It is another one I would really not consider a cast and retrieve line for sight purposes only, but so far it has been equal to or better than the Infinity for bite detection and performance in open waters. Both these lines are not cheap and the Infinity lasted me almost a full year of fishing before a wind knot this Spring caused the eviction from my spool on the 20 Luvias. I now have two JDM reels spooled with the Avani and will be reporting on this line more often since our weather has finally decided to straighten up enough to get out on the boat and try to stick a few Panfish. Hope this helps, Randy has been using that line for cast and retrieve of spoons and spinners, which really does not require much visibility for bite detection, he reports a nice jolt from the line when the trout whack the moving bait, thus making setting the hook easier and faster with the low stretch of the braided line.

Good info. I lost some PE line to a break off and some more to a wind knot fishing yesterday (it got pretty windy for a couple of hours). I'm coming from mostly bobber fishing trying to figure out the single pole casting a jig game, thats what got me started down the JDM rabbit hole. Of the fish I caught yesterday I'm not sure it was due to watching the line, think it was more the line started to feel sluggish when reeling. I missed some of the fish but think I hooked more than I missed using an ESP rod. Thinking the sensitivity of the new JDM rods will help out with feeling the light bites.

Figuring out the per meter price of line the Avani (150m spool) is actually a little cheaper than the Infinity(75m spool) both are still rather expensive even the Master limited hi vis isn't what I would call cheap.

No JDM premium lines are cheap. As to seeing line...I can see it..and it is hard for me to see any line really. As strange as it may sound I don't really watch my line for the bite....I have to know where my line is or I get all jacked up when twitching. I have no issues seeing the Twitch Master...Infinity PE or the Ester lines. I have trouble seeing the Blue Moon FC. I now have 2 reels spooled up with the Infinity PE. I have yet to really fish it for crappie...Gills and such but next week that is coming. The little bit I used in the catch pool for bluegill I think I may prefer the ester so it will sink better. I have found out over the past few years that the Ester...PE...FC...and nylon lines all have their place. For trout I am a huge fan of the Infinity PE.
