Rainy today

Rainy today in NE Oklahoma. Did a little pond fishing at lunch. In attempt to find the all elusive crappie slab, I managed to snag a large mouth. Well he gave me a good wrastle on my 4lb test hi viz mr.crappie but was no match for its strength. Gotta give it to him that jig looked mighty tasty.

Seeking pointers on getting that bait straight and in-line on the hook. I've seen videos on the dental floss with superglue and cutting of the hook neck.but just in general I catch myself not always getting the bait straight. I guess practice will make me better.

Also, I may have stepped myself away from the glamour of the St. Croix and I'm willing to save a little in the pocketbook. With some comments I've read from you all, should I look into the BnM or ACC crappie stick more [emoji848] .

Those bonus fish are welcome any day for me. They certainly keep things interesting

Yeah I may say I’m fishing for crappie but if it’s in the water and gets on my hook it’s good. Never hooked a snake but watching guys subdue 15 ft pythons I’m pretty sure I can wrangle a little water snake.

Took a buddy fishing. I heard him say I got it. When I looked around he had a rattle trap hooked firmly in the middle of a 3 foot water moccasin. Had to kill the thing with a boat paddle. I avoid hooking snakes if possible :biggrin

might want to look at the colt series rods from Dobyns , right dandy rod for sure and not terribly high priced , might give the saint whatever a run for it's money at half the price ,,,,,,just saying :highfive

until you put one in your hand you just don't know , it is a really fine stick , this is fact for sure ,held more rods in my life than most an to be sure it ranks right up there with the more well known high end sticks , no sinkers included
