I love fishing in Mississippi!
and they are some great folks over their !
but yaw can keep your cottonmouths!
iI wouldn’t wade those waters over their for a limit of 5 #ers :biggrin
I’ve waded in Florida with the gators in my younger years but not going playing around with those snakes !
Lol, they are some mean critters. I was wading in Grenada last year, when I heard a commotion to my right. Lots of splashing, cussing, and general chaos. I thought someone had stepped in a hole and went under, so I waded on over. Found a fellow wader on the bank out of breath. Turns out he was fishing around a cypress with vines hanging down and came face to face with a cottonmouth. Needless to say, he was done for the day.

YUP, that would shorten ones day for sure.
Wife and I were fishing a big stake bed in Clear Creek at Sardis. It was in about 4 foot of water. We got up early to get a spot around it. Got there and found no boats but a guy standing on back with cutoffs, no shirt and tennis shoes. He had just been wade fishing that stake bed and had big cotton mouth hit his jig. Said he drug it up on bank with his jig pole, threw the pole on ground and watched ole noshoulders for about 15 minute getting rid of jig. Said we could have the spot cause he wouldn't be back there for rest of day. I wouldn't have gone back there wading forever.
