Sunfish Time
I've been fishing a local lake that is known for a very healthy population of Crappies, but I've lucked into a few (pumpkinseed) sunfish, which are fairly rare, in that lake. The crappies already have moved off of their nests and I only caught one sunfish the other day, but I caught it very shallow in thick weeds. I got a couple questions. How would i fish for these sunfish without always getting crappies? Where should I look to find them? Are they schooling fish? thanks a bunch

Look for deeper water where you caught the other pumpkinseeds. Any small live bait will work: crickets, meal worms, wax worms, maggots. Small hair/feather/plastic jigs are good artificials, as are flies. Fish them under a float just like live bait.

Agree with Deathbed. Fish 7 foot deep under a slip float with Wax Worms.
