First for the season
Drove out to an old mill pond in the coast range yesterday to take the new kayak on another adventure. It was 37 and partly cloudy when I left the house. It was 31 and fog at the pond. The fog burnt of fairly quickly and the sun played hide and seek for a bit before the heavy clouds rolled in and a cold wind started up telling me the rainstorms that were predicted were on the way. Boated 2 and missed a solid bobber down while daydreaming. Not an action-packed day but a fun one non the less. The icing on the cake was catching one on one of my hand tied 1/80 oz jigs. Either the little fella was starving, stupid, or my ties work.

Good job keeping the skunk out of your yak ! Good looking gills.
Fun catching them on jigs and flies you tie yourself .

We all guilty of daydreaming on occasion, lol. Glad you kept the skunk away, and your hooked on tying now, haha,ha. It's always a great feeling. Congrats on some nice ones.

Still a good day, no skunk. Warmer waters and weather will bring the Gills on up.
