Bad day on Green River Lake!
Took my daughter to Green, Thursday morning to catch a crappie. First time out in my Lowe Stinger this year. We launched and boat fired right up. We idled out of Emerald Isle with no problem. I ran out around the island, marked a brush pile and we dropped jigs. As I trolled up to the pile my daughter said “dad, should water be coming through that hole?”
I turned to look and saw water surging up through the floor drain!
I got the boat cranked and planed out and ran back to Emerald and beached it by the ramp.
I checked my plug ,it was tight and in place. A nice fella there at Emerald saw our plight and offered to help us. He got a spare bilge and we pumped the water out and got the boat back on the trailer. Cannot believe how much water was in my boat.
Anyway, we got it trailered and pulled up on the ramp and determined the intake hose for the live wells has frozen and burst up under the gas tank.
Shout out to CJ @ Emerald Isle for his help!
If you all could point me to someone who could help me replace this hose or a shop near Bardstown, I would surely appreciate it. At this time I can’t see how to get the hose un hooked from the rear live-well without removing the battery deck and gas tank?
Sorry for such a long post.
