Bank Fishing Rod Recommendation

Hi All. I am looking for a rod recommendation for a specialized purpose. On my home water creek/stream there are some really nice bank fishing spots, but you have to fish from an almost vertical steep bank that is above the water. It is really out of the reach of a net so.....I'm looking for a rod that can stand up to "boat lifting" pans and crappies from the water and not break. All of my U/L rod needs are covered, but I'm thinking to keep up the fun factor I need at the least a light power, and maybe a medium light. I will be fishing 1/32 to 1/16 soft bait jigs under a float, slip or fixed. I'm not looking to spend a lot on the rod as I mostly U/L wade fish in other areas, but some of these sections are too nice to pass up. It won't get a lot of use, but when I need it I need it. I'm looking for a rod that if it breaks I'll be a little sad but won't cry. I'll be moving along casting to spots and won't be sitting on a bucket that much. I can spend what I need to, I'm just not looking to invest a lot.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Also, I'm near a Dick's and Wally World, so I have those options as well as the internet.

How high above the water? Used to do a lot of salt water pier fishing. Used basket nets on a rope to bring the fish up. Worked pretty well

Some almost if not 6’. There is no way (especially at my age) that I can climb down. These are verticals drops for the most part - washed away over the years from storms.

A light action rod will lift most if not all of the crappie and panfish you might encounter. As long as the line is up to the task

Ugly Stiks do seem to be tough.

I use my 10’ Todd Huckabee Dippin rod,,,,she casts great and flips those big 2 lbers right in….alittle pricey but nice product….only downfall is if you don’t know what a Tennessee reel grip is, you might not like this…I personally have no issues…

Not a fan of Tennessee grips, Takeum, but thanks for the suggestion. Sounds like a light power might get the job done.

Shakespeare Micro Series rod with 6# braid.

I have a few of the Shakespeare rods mentioned above and while not top of the line they’re good for the price. I still have them in 5’6”, 6’, and two in 7’ that I use for trolling. I also have a 7’ all star light action, sold at academy, that does well and beefy enough to be abused some and survive. The proof of that is that I’ve had it over 5 years and even take it to salt water. Good sensitivity and pretty light with a $50 price tag. I also have a 6’6” Browning airstream that has a more moderate taper and a light action that I like a lot. Here lately it’s been hard to get my TSS out of my hands when I want something a bit longer with a little more guts.
