Fist time in long time.
Might as well add my name to the broke rod list. Was catching crappie on every cast yesterday using the new Eradicator 510 UL when I hooked a small yellow bass, and while I preach do not boatlift fish with these rods that is what I did. Now that fish was not even 4 ounces and I am sure that was not the cause. Somehow the blank was compromised. This was the first trip out with this rod and I feel it was that way when I got it. Those of us who buy these rods know that can happen so no need for me to cry over spilt milk. I will try to get a replacement top and see how it goes. I had caught about 30 fish before this happened. It was a great rod for crappie and bluegill. The sensitivity was off the charts. This is life.

Sorry to hear this, but it is a reality with high carbon.graphite content rods. Any flaw or impact will cause micro-fractures that can lead to rod failure.

Sorry to hear that Randy .
If you fish and own rods , it’s just a matter of when it will happen .
I’ve had more broken rods in last year than I have in the past ten years.
Although the last two , I wasn’t personally involved in their breaking .

I've broken several in the last year or two. I'm certainly not the easiest on my equipment but it's a part of owning these high end rods...

Sorry to hear the news, Randy. Good luck with getting a replacement tip. Chris got a replacement out for my Daiwa the very next day.

This is the 3rd rod I have broken in the past 10 years. Two of them were because of stupidity on my part. This one puzzles me. It broke where the solid tip fits into the blank. Anyway I will move on. Already have my eye on a short UL…LOL. I have to say though before it broke it was a sweet rod.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Hopefully you can get the top replaced.

After the shock wears off , I try to look at it as an opportunity to try something new.
Good luck with your new rod .

Sorry to hear that happened, Alphahawk. As you've said it dozen of times these JDM rods are tougher than they appear so it begs me to believe could it be some kind of manufacturing defect. Anyhow atleast you've caught some fish with it, I've yet to see my 510 Realfinesse in action since took delivery. It's such a beautifully made rod i can't help but pulling it out of its cover jus to look at it while waiting for spring to warm up.
