hook/jig turner

I need to make a hook turner for making basically weightless jigs. I tie the material on the hook, then put them in the turner to make the head out of either epoxy or hot glue. I have one I use but I can only do 2 hooks at a time and this works fine for hot glue but for epoxy it sucks mixing tiny amounts correctly and doing 2 at a time. I have seen the big wheels that turn jigs but that won't work, the jig hook has to turn in tight circles to prevent running.

Basically a block with gears that hold alligator clips to hold the hooks, like 8 or more at a time.

I have it designed, just can't find the components. A slow motor or faster one that I can gear down and the gears, oh the gears, have been a pain to find.

Possibly something from rope or cordage industry. Just off the top of my head a chain or timing belt turning the spindles. That should be easier to source the parts, would be scalable, shape could be a little more flexible also

They make a rotating dry rack for hand tied jigs/flies. Possibly this could work?

I believe he needs something to turn the jigs on there axis so the epoxy will stay in a ball as it dries and not drip off. Same concept as spinning a rod blank to keep the coating level on the wrappings.

2.For a motor, you could use a sewing machine motor and wire in a speed control, like a light dimmer instead of the foot controller.

Might could look into RC cars. They have the small motors and gears drives, etc and might could piece something together without breaking the bank.

Would using UV resin and then using a light to quickly cure to the point where it won't run or drip work?

Like was said, RC servo would keep them rotating while a rod turner would add a circular motion. Not much that's in the inexpensive bin with RC electric stuff but the possibilities are endless.

Try UV Expoxy. This was made with uv Expoxy and Peak rotory vice.

You could get some of these gears in assorted sizes, a larger central gear mounted on your block with several small ones meshed to it to mount alligator clips to hold hooks......

Then use one of these to drive the central gear.....

This is just an example, I don't know what final rpm you would want, but you could tune that in with different gear sizes and you can get those reduction motors at almost any RPM.
