Got to the ramp early yesterday and it felt like it too. Was a balmy 31* when I pulled in at 7:30AM.:yikes I was the 2nd vehicle at this ramp so I though I'd made it somewhere new that I hadnt fished in a long time where alot of people wouldnt be, especially for a Saturday. Well, I was wrong. When I got to where I wanted to fish there were already 3 boats in sight and more just ahead out of sight and several more trickled in. Atleast there was a hugh area so everybody fished without getting into0 each other's way.
Anyway, the fishing started slow for me. I kept trolling, trolling, and trolling finally picking up a few. I didnt need fish so I set my personal limit size to 12" fish or none. Either way I planned on enjoying this day. Also, before I forget I seen a couple folks I hadnt talked with in quite a while so it was great seeing them again too.:)
I'd hit spots where I'd catch a couple, then nothing for a good stretch. Finally I left the crowd and started heading towards their bedding grounds. And that was a pretty good move for me. When I hit the 20' and 15' depths things started happening. I started catching a good many fish, both small and large. My biggest fish came out of the 16' depth @ 10' down...

She was a hoss for sure! Fished on until I got tired of that wind wanting to blow me around so I called it a day at 2PM. Wound up with 17 good fish in the live well out of the 54 fish I caught. That's better than 1 out of every 3 being over 12". Another great day for me. You gust gotta love feeling a heavyweight on the end of those long poles. Here's the livewell shot from yesterday...

The other day was mostly males caught but NOT today. Most were females this time. Go get 'em boys. Theyre moving up in the column and headed a little shallower.;)
