I like a #2 Tru Turn style hook myself. I also prefer them to be red instead of gold.
Big minners=big hooks, little minners=little hooks.
I use size two Aberdeen hooks in red almost exclusively

Eagle Claw 214EL can be hung up, bent and re- straightened dozens of times ... comes in bronze or gold ...

2/0 gold eagle claw as well in open water! hardly ever loose a fish.
if in real thick stuff will use a 214El gold !
