First question would be what is your budget? I have the humminbird Helix 5 and 7 and love them but they do tend to get moisture in them if you don't remove them every time you pick up the boat, I believe the 9 has a moisture inhibitor that solves this problem but they don't put it in the 5 and 7's. I have had to send mine back a couple of times but HB's customer service is second to none and very quick about getting your product back to you! If you have $3,000 or so, you can go with the livescope system. Really nice system but out of my budget.
Save your money and get a livescope. An additional depth finder is good for running the boat to find depth and gps.
Check out the "member sponsor classified ads" there are 3 reputable marine electronic dealers 'BBG MARINE, RUSSELL MARINE and SHUT UP AND FISH' for some of the best prices on electronics. As far as instlation check one of the boat dealers in your area.
I saw some Garmin Echomap UHD 93vs bundled with Livescope for $2099. They come with the GT54, this is going to be dropped from their product line and replaced with the newer GT56
