Auston Fishing

Im in Illinois and want to visit my son in Austin. Any advice on what lake and guide would be appreciated. im interested in any top lakes between Dallas and Austin

if I wanted to ketch crappie in the dfw area with a guide , I would try Jerry Hancock on lake fork maybe
or Chris Webb on cedar creek .
there are plenty of others that are good at it as well in those areas .
maybe check out crappie fake book pages in Texas
they are ketchn nice fish in deep water in some spots east of town a bit for sure.
the Austin area isn't known for the best crappie ketchn , most lakes are bit to clear and low on baitfish .

Jerry aint like likely a cheap date and bet he is pretty busy , but if it was me and I wanted to hammer a few slabs
he would likely be the guy
down close to Houston my bud Sk is guiding too , not sure if he is on them , but it is quite possible .:highfive
