First ties
Found a box full of stuff my son had bought several years ago and thought why not, I'll give it a try. This may be something I could get addicted to if I could ever figure out how to do it right. Not the best but not as bad as I was thinking they would turn out. Appreciate any tips on how to make them better.Attachment 415872

Those are some very nice ties

Those look great for first ties! I see nothing noticeable wrong with them. Good job.

Nothing at all wrong with those. You got the tail length just right which is the first mistake most new folks make. I would have never guess those were your first ties. They look much better than my first ones.

You are doing quite well Grass Hopper. Looks like you've been paying attention to what these guys have been saying. Keep up the good work.

Some of the best advice I got was from Skip. Strive for consistency. You are doing well. Have fun.

Great advice there from MCG1, 20 some years ago I got into a jig swap that wanted 20 jigs tied identical. Took prolly 35 to get there but what a learning experience it was. SKIP is the master at this and I'm quite sure it is from practicing it over and over. Today I can tie that jig in my sleep and it will look the same.:cheers2 Welcome to tying my friend.
