Struck out this weekend
First strike was Lake Monticello Friday night. Had my first nightstalking experience, was set up by 8 o'clock and stayed until 11, without a single bite. Bait fish was all around the lights but no crappie. Second strike was Cane Creek Saturday morning. I didn't catch a single crappie, I caught a few bream, but nothing big. I did get to visit with CEB though, that made my day, always nice to visit with a friend on the lake. Thought I would salvage a fishless weekend by going back to Morgan Point. But realized when I drove up that it wasn't good. The river was back in the lake and it was back up as high as it was earlier this month. It had 5 extra feet ot water today and still rising, I don't know where all this water is coming from. I caught one catfish on a roadrunner, I didn't stay long as I was sure it was futile. But as I always say, A Bad day of fishing beats a good day at work. Will try again next weekend.
Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Jerry,
All that water is coming from OK, & western arkansas. They've been getting a lot of rain over there. The river is roaring up here in little rock. too bad about the fishing. If it's any consolation, I haven't been able to catch any fish here either. Been real slow.

Jerry, sounds very typical of AGFC lakes. I've been fishing lake Des Arc just about since I could hold a pole. Went there a couple weeks ago and didn't even get a bite. think I'll do a new thread and see what others are doing on AGFC lakes.
