Avice needed on colors
I have a new son-in-law that lives in AZ, Phoenix to be exact. Anyway he likes to fish for trout. Thought I would tie him up some small jigs and give'em to him. Any suggestions on colors. I know the lakes he's fish'n in also have crappie, so thier'll be some of them as well. I'll be working with 1/80th and 1/64th for the trout jigs and 1/32 and 1/16th for the crappie. Thanks for any help in advance. Eric, AKA Jamesdean.

I'd try browns, blacks, and cream for natural buggy jigs and hot pink, orange and green for attractor colors. Spring's wiggler nymph is an easy pattern to replicate for tout and should work on crappie also. That streamer pattern you tied is a winner too!

Thank you for the reply MCG1. I had watched a video of one being tied on a fly hook and thought I'd try making it into a jig. With 3-4 hours between coats of polyeurathane on that floor last night I figured I would try. Thank you again. Eric,AKA Jamesdean

Woolybooger pattern in black tail and body with grizzly hackle palmered length of body for all species and lately I’ve been swapping out the tail from rabbit fur to mallard flank feathers .
Works on trout pretty good too .

Thank you gillchaser999. sorry for not answering sooner. Been a day today. I got up early, Put the third coat of Polyurethane on the new wood floor in front bedroom. At 7:30 this morning, I got a call from momma to go pick her up in St Louis, Mo at her trucking yard some 210 miles away. Just got back. I'll be tying some of these up in the next day or so. Thank you. Eric, AKA Jamesdean
