Here we go again![emoji30]
I slipped up and let it out on a post on a state forum and now I’m getting all kinds of questions.
After 5 major surgeries in 4 years, I’m about to head to the table again.
In 1990 I blew out my right shoulder at the plant. I had rotator cuff operations in 1990 x 2, 1996, and 2001. After my 2001 surgery, the surgeon at Vanderbilt Hospital said I would be having that shoulder replaced in 5 years. I got 20 out of it.
The last year my shoulder has popped out multiple times, many while on my boat with clients. Seeing the horror on client faces when they hear me get it back in place plus the constant extreme pain forced me back into my Dr’s office. After x-rays, he said “You’ve got a mess!” I told him the bone to bone situation is why he was never able to get his needle where he wanted it during my injections every 10 weeks. My left shoulder is maybe a couple of years from needing attention.
So, here I am facing a total reverse shoulder replacement on December 20. Merry Christmas to me!
I’m now trying my best to hustle up and tie up loose ends the best I can. Dr says I should be back to normal activity by March 1 without my current pain and with much better range of motion. Having been thru rehab 4 times and my shoulder locking up twice, I know what lies ahead after surgery.
If I don’t come around much for a while after surgery, bear with me. I’ve gathered up several books I’ve been wanting to read.
