Lake Talquin trolling technique

I had a friend call me last week and mentioned a guide(DC) on Talquin has developed a different trolling technique. This friend has fished with the guide and told me this technique would be very productive on the lakes I fish. I no longer do facebook so that is not an option for videos. Would somebody who is familiar with this technique be willing to share some info with me by PM? I have tried to call him but haven't heard back. I'm thinking about a February trip with him but don't know how my progress from shoulder replacement will be going.

I used to long line. Since I got the livescope I now "medium line". It's just a shorter cast, and a slightly heavier jig up front (on a double rig) so I can keep the bait down and a tad closer to the boat. This allows me see the jigs on the scope easier. Here in Florida I have found that when the fishing is tough you can usually find fish hugging the bottom, and the livescope lets me get right down low on them. Also, I've learned you don't want to let your bait drag the bottom cause you'll never catch a fish with muck on your jig. Seeing the jigs on the livescope keep me low, but off the bottom.

What size jigs are you running? What speeds?
To look backwards with Livescope I assume you are running your scope transducer on some sort of a pole?

I’m trying to develop some sort of tactic to be able to get multiple clients involved with my Livescope. Using slip bobbers and minnows off the sides has worked OK at times. I use my Mega360 to keep my target on screen with the boat moving around.

Rickie recently took my scope transducer off the Ultrex and back on my DaDucer folding mount. The 360 went onto the Ultrex.

Got to experiment.

On my double rig I'm using a 1/16 in front of a 1/32. Usually a PICO Bunny Butt hair jig soaked in Slabsauce (stays on forever on that rabbit hair) , in front of a 1/32 oz jig with a plastic (curly tail). This is light stuff but remember, I'm in Florida fishing around 6-8 ft of water. We don't have real deep water here, and I can lower or raise my bait with line length, while looking at my livescope. I have a home made PVC based livescope transducer mount attached to my boat with a ram mount. It was originally temporary, but I've never upgraded it. It suits my needs fine. I troll with 6 rods (most of the time), and really only focus my livescope on two of my lines. If you line things up right you can see both on the livescope at the same time. I line one up thats on a ten ft rod with another thats on a 14 ft rod. Works great for me.
