Seriously considering adding seat mounts to my bow hatches. Doing this for double seating on the bow. I haven't found a double seat mount that fits Springfield Marine bases.
So I have been looking at adding seat bases to my front hatches. The hatches are solid when closed and locked. Other than the obvious safety issues with unlocked hatches, why shouldn't I do it?
Anybody done it? Good-bad?

Don’t think your hatch would last very long,,,,,my broke just being close to the rear seat,,,my fishing buddy stepped on the corner and the fiberglass just gave out,,,,I’m sure yours are probably metal but the hinges still aren’t very strong I’d think if stepped on,,,my rivets gave out too,,,
Would an adapter work, then say a double seat with post like Millennium Marine?

Sure a lot of extra stress on the hatch covers. Break one while sitting in the seat and it is a quick trip into the bottom of the boat or over the side into the water

I was going to suggest a custom fabrication but Cumberland's product is what I had in mind too. May need longer or shorter box/arms.
I have a Millennium Sidekick which works fine. I am not sure but I don’t think Cumberland is still in business. I sure wouldn’t put them on the hatches as they are a weak point on your deck.
Last I knew cumberland crappie went out of business. Had a few parts and that was all
