Trophy Crappie Ketchn lessons for free
Not available to the masses , but some earn the free tutorials and secrets to holding a crappie in that there really large size that in most circles is considered "trophy" size .
Step one, much like that fella "Jam" find private waters,ones that have been long forgotten are the best.
Step two, Secure permission to "fish" said locations, the almost hardest part in my opinion .
Step three , the most difficult of the three step program, is to release that BIG fish you ketch in there!
It can be a bluebird day and the middle of it , it could be anytime of the year as well. The private water crappie are not like public waters fish in most cases. They roam less due to constraints on the body of water's size . ie ( fish in a barrel) ....
It requires much less than some say you must have in high end equipment and or even owning a boat !
The trick to it that often matters the most is to emulate the food source in the private waters , know what they are likely eating in there , other crappie ?bluegill ? crawdads? maybe even yellow grasshoppers in the summer .
Be prepared for how you might go about landing such a fish , many times it becomes an issue once the fish is on and often ends with a lost fish if you don't have a plan.
this all said , I trained H from never ketchn a single crappie in his life , to being a force to be reckoned with in under 2 years ! :highfive
In the last 2 weeks he has managed to ketch the largest white crappie in his pursuits and the largest black crappie as well ! :cheers2
The black he got Saturday at high noon according to him , made the 2 lb white from the other day look small ! Said it was easily 3 plus inches longer and almost the size of a carp !

p.s. he managed to ketch lots of big crappie that day as well, and a mohawk in the mix too,not just one really big one .
