Kayak Trip Report, Indian Creek again!

I fished Indian Creek today, The fish were slow until around lunch time, then pick up nicely. Fish were caught single pole jigging laydowns and isolated brush with the bite at 4 to 5 feet deep. The best bait was a Bobby Garland Tuxedo shimmer on a 1/32oz jig head. I had the place to myself except a gentleman fishing a cane pole and minnows from a flat bottom. I kept a limit and returned well over a 100 little ones. The water was clear with visibility of about 36 inches and 52 degrees in the morning. It had warmed to 54 by afternoon.

Yep!!Like I told you that would have been much more fun than what I’m dealing with. Lol. Glad you got to go.

The old guy using minnows left with 15 or 20 keepers and said he was catching 10 short Crappie for everyone that measured. He only fished from around lunch time till about 4PM. I hoping that means a great spring!

Sounds like the warmer water in the afternoon before all that rain was the ticket. Thanks for the report DB!!

Wow what a day for numbers. I have never fished that creek. Do you put in at the boat ramp ? Do you fish all the way up past where Barron fork enters the creek. I have to get over there and try it. Thanks for all your reports and detailed info on where and how you caught them.

Nice haul! I got skunked on the Elk River last weekend other than a couple of stripers. Might take the kayak to Indian Creek this weekend.
