Reading earlier threads some were talking about the number of V's used in a jigs tail. Am I wrong in assuming they are referring to the V shape of the hackle feather fibers <<<< and the number of those fibers on each side of the stem?

If you take a feather and cut it into 1/4 inch sections that would be what they are calling a V. The sections of feathers resemble the shape of a V
