Crappie are hard to pattern and always changing in my experience. I look to find the baitfish, then the depth, then the color or action they want. Sometimes you can catch them all day in the same spot, other times it's one here and one there. The god news if you can find the depth and color usually many of the fish in the same area will fall victim to the tactic. If you notice when I report what I caught my fish on, I may have tried a dozen things until I get on a pattern. Once I do I'm constantly moving catching the active fish. Maybe I have ADHD but I seldom spend more than a few minutes in one spot or laydown. After a couple cast or dips with a jig pole I move on. Just my :twocents
