As I've mentioned in other posts, I'm just getting started in chasing crappie and one of the techniques I want to start using is dock shooting. I have a rod/reel already and have been practicing in my yard. I live in the Louisville area and my question is what are some good lakes to use this technique? Thanks!

Some of my best dockshooting on KY or Barkley has been around marinas that allow it. Many of the big marinas have signs that prevent it. In those cases, do it at your own risk. I seriously doubt a marina owner is going to give you crap for shooting docks. It's the green carp guys bouncing 1 oz jig or spinnerbaits off multi-hundred thousand boats that gets them stirred up.
Marinas are a great spot to shoot. Personally I love to find the boats all spider webbed up. They have not moved in a good. They provide a pretty good place for fish to be. My rule is if I can't shoot that day without hitting boats I find somewhere else to shoot. I have spent a lot of hours out in the yard shooting into a bucket laid on it's side. The jig makes a rewarding thump hitting the bottom of the bucket. When I started shooting under pontoon boats. I cut the bottom out of the bucket. And worked on shooting through the bucket and beyond to simulate shooting into the space between the toons and the motor. Caught some good fish under those boats.
