Didn't need to change lures today - five species hit one in particular
The day was amazing and one that will go down in the record books! First was the inch of rain that fell last night added to the 4" of rain that fell four days ago. The gravel launch was under a foot of water all the way to the gate by the road(center):

The water temperature was 55 degrees and the wind about 15 mph. With all that rain, the wetland areas now had almost a foot of water added - 2' was now 3' with more open areas between weed beds. The clouds and more rain expected I think helped make fish more aggressive in the shallows.

Bright colored plastics do have a place under the above conditions and a light jig head allows a slow horizontal swim. This one in particular didn't need to be changed for over 25 fish in three hours:

Four species caught on the same wetlands flat and lure:

When fish started nipping and missing, I figured it was sunfish, so I down sized, used a smaller jig head but stayed with the same color:

The lure shape was that of a soft mini-stick. Everything got caught on it.
This pattern will hold for at least 4 days until the water drops and gets colder. The strikes were hard from fish grouped in different shallow areas. So much for colder water affecting the strike. In fact many fish that missed being hooked on the first cast, got hooked on the 2nd one or attacked the lure 5x on the same retrieve.
