I've heard of some great fishing in those White River oxbows, but have never fished them. Long way to go without knowing someone that fishes there.
I agree LA. I have a friend that goes over on occasion and fishes for green carp. Had a couple of lakes he liked that had to use a 4 wheeler to get into, but when you get there, it is like fishing in a barrel. I have never fished there personally, but with such a long drive, i would have to find a hotel close and get 2 days worth!
Had a green carp tournament there last weekend. The bass wasnt biting good but my partner caught 2 crappie on a spinner bait. Both fish was holding on wood.
I have heard of Pepper's lake. It is surrounded by private land. But you can get to it when the river is high. I was told to wear a helment and catcher's mask because they could injure you when they jump in the boat. I don't have a clue how to get there though.

Peppers Lake is a couple miles south of Devalls Bluff. Its awful hard to get into even when the river was so high this winter. Millers Lake is another good lake to fish and a couple of years ago the G&F put a nice ramp in. Due to a log jamb off the river you cant get in, but if you hake hwy 70 and turn by the old store in Biscoe (Next to the Cache) the old road will take you right to it. Ive done very well in that lake. 3-4 years ago a buddy and I were bass fishin and I hung a crappie just under 4 lbs on a double blade spinnerbait. It was so big my buddy mounted it and put it in his taxidermy for display. Theres some big uns' in there
went back into the barrow pits south of Biscoe...4 keepers:(
1 boat at Miller's said weren't doin nuthin!!!
