Fall movement

Do crappie in lakes without major feeder creeks still move into cove areas in the fall to follow shad movements? A lake near me has a small feeder at the head but none from there to the spillway. The terrain is slightly hilly so shallow coves is the only choice other than main lake areas. Just curious. I'm new to this type of lake.

Use your electronics to scan the area for schools of baitfish. If they’re there, the crappie won’t be far away. Also check the feeder creek where it enters the area.

shallow coves often have warmer waters and attract threadfin shad as the water cools down .
it would be a good idea to look in those areas for sure .

Place a light at night and bring the shad to you
