Facebook and Instagram were back in business on Monday afternoon after a seven hour shutdown that cost CEO Mark Zuckerberg an estimated $7 billion.

WhatsApp, owned by Facebook, appeared to still be offline, as the company's technicians battled to restore service after a global outage.
