I hit rend lake yesterday for a couple hours with out any luck. I tried to fish under the bridge on 154 just west of sail boat harbor, but the south wind was getting with it and I was taking a beating to stay in position. After that I went over to Jackie branch and fished the attractants along the peninsula resulting a few bumps, but no fish. Saw lots of shad flicking at the surface, and bait balls on the graph. I finished up the day fishing along the north side of 154. Saw a few guys catching what looked like small crappie under the bridge. But the couple guys I talked to hadn't had much luck either. Water temps were around 72, air was 50-75, sunny skies, south wind.
I need to get better at off shore fishing. Most my previous experiences have been beating the banks and fishing laydowns. I need to up my game.
