Bream Killers
worked their magic today on these September sunfish. Was wishin I had brought a fly rod, but improvised with the spinning gear. Even had a nice size pumpkinseed get in on the action, but those brilliant breeding colors have really faded on that one. The last gill was in a group chasing baitfish and made the mistake of grabbing the ponyhead jig/curly tail brought thru the wake. On my second attempt my cast fell short and landed smack in the middle of the baitfish and scattered the whole works.:banghead On the walk out was thinking it won't be long before the flowers will be gone, but looking forward to that fall foliage. Thanks for lookin!Attachment 408975Attachment 408976Attachment 408977Attachment 408978Attachment 408979Attachment 408980Attachment 408981Attachment 408982Attachment 408983Attachment 408984

Judging by a couple of those takes the Bream Killer was the ticket. Those Asters sure are pretty this time of year, a late splash of color in a sea of green and brown.

Nice array of photos MR. Those fall colors don’t last long, but as Stan said sure are pretty to see.

Enjoyed your post, great pics and gear. I’ve been chasing salty fish and doing pretty well for a rookie. I’ll get back to the sweet water soon enough. Keep after em, cooler temps aren’t far off.

Those are some nice looking fish! Some of the wild flowers in PA are in full bloom now. I hit a few spots yesterday in the Keystone State, but didn't catch gills as nice as yours.
