i have been using mr crappie 4 lb and Ande 4lb line for crappie, yesterday my son gave me a spool of SOS in 4lb line, i did not fish with it yet, but it seems real limp and soft, can't wait to see how it cast vs the other 2 lines any thoughts on 4lb lines that will cast better than most.

I hear many on here like it a lot. I have used some Viscous. It is good line.

If you are looking for "true" 4# test I suggest the Varivas Twitch Master VLS line. I used SOS line for years...it's good line but as with the overwhelming majority of US market lines it breaks way above its rating. The 4# SOS will break right at the 6.5 pound mark...it has a diameter of .200mm. The 4# test Twitch Master has a diameter of .148mm. You will get much better casting distance with the Twitch Master. And if you step up to the 6# test Twitch Master the diameter is .185mm.....still smaller than SOS 4# test line and will cast further.

Great info their Alphahawk, the SOS line is designed for the trout magnet if I’m not mistaken….so it’s meant for casting small stuff. I’ve personally never tried it. I haven’t heard of this twitch master either but you have me curious, the diameter gap is big for being the same #….resulting in greater distance like you mentioned. Does it come in Hi-Vis though? I’m real big on that, personally. My favorite line by far is Suffix Elite Hi-Vis 4#…..$12 for 330yd, but it’s the best mono I’ve fished.Quote:

As Alphahawk mentioned the VARIVAS Twitch Master is very low stretch nylon monofilament line, super thin, in a gold color that's easy for the our human eyes to see. If you like hi-viz green, take a look at the VARIVAS Sight Edition nylon. It's a tad bit thicker with a bit more stretch than the Twitch Master VLS. It's an excellent all-purpose, hi-viz, mono line, with excellent castability for panfish, trout or bass. The Sight Edition is available in IGFA rated lb class strengths, making it a great line for tournament use or those in aiming for line-class records.Quote:
