Terrova with link gps question
Been playing around with my new terrova but just have a question. I do not have a heading sensor on my boat so I use the internal GPS of the unit. If I understand correctly when you mark a waypoint with Side Imaging the way point is actually set at the unit and not at the transducer? So if I select to go to a pre-marked waypoint and spotlock using the link function, would the spot lock happen on top of the cursor or would it be off by the length of transducer to the unit. Being that the unit is new to me when I am out scanning, I am marking structure Center Mass and while the cursor is over the selected Target , I push go to position and the trolling motor takes over . I'm just not sure exactly where the trolling motor is stopping . Will it be at a spot located directly on top of structure or would it be the difference in length of the unit to the transducer or difference in length from the trolling motor to the unit?. I hope this makes sense.
