I do like a sickle hook. I usually prefer a #2 hook for rigging minnows. My preference is a red hook as well. Red seems to do better for me

They are good hooks. Most I have used are as sharp as a needle

I like the red 214EL, works best for me.

I use both red sickle hooks and red aberdeens.

I do like the sickle aberdeens. I dont think they necessarily provide any advantage over a round bend, but they work good i really liked the old matzuo ones, they were super sharp and didnt have the turned tip like eagle claws
