What’s everybody think on sinking Xmas trees
Sure. Go for it. Great way to recycle.
But Christmas tree are far down on the list of best crappie habitat for fishing. The branches are usually too thick and prime for hang ups. Other trees like willows, bamboo, and even cedar work better. Or pvc if allowed.
I fish some that are turned upside down hanging from docks. Always fish on them. They can grab a lot of jigs
Tops of oak trees seem to last longer. Cedar can be real good also. Just take every other branch out.
Not a fan of Xmas trees . Most are Pine or Spruce . Too thick and not long lasting . I perfer hardwood or Cedar trees . Seldom use trees anymore but stakebeds . Less hang ups . Most productive cover has 10'' or greater spacing to allow fish access not just beside it . The easiest way to explain is being able to pass a 10'' ball through it
