Help! My lake is flooded!

Can anyone give me some hints on where to look for crappie on a flooded lake?
My lake is 20' above normal pool
The crappie had started to move to their summer patterns,
Trees along the channels,then the rains came!
Just a few tips as where to start looking for them would be greatly appreciated!

They like flooded timber.

Assuming you have the crappie pegged for this time of year. I would start by locating the channel where the crappie would normally be. I would then move toward the current waters edge until I hit 6 - 10 ft of water. Since it's flodded, its likely murky. That would allow the crappie in shallower water

If the lake is still rising, I'd look closer towards the banks. If the lake is falling, I'd look back at where they "were" before the rain. You might also look for floating debris mats that've been blown into pockets or corners.

My best advice is to use your electronics over many different areas FIRST ... to find the depth they're holding at & if they're concentrated or scattered .... THEN use whatever technique is most suitable to that scenario. :twocents

follow the bait is my suggestion , don't know your lake but some baitfish move really shallow to feed on the newly introduced forage , the crappie will likely follow them into those areas .
it might be a rough go though as 20 foot high really spreads out the areas to go looking in most spots we hit .
