Going this weekend to give it a try, my question is what is the best length rods. I will have submersible lights in the front, I was planning to use my rod holders with 8 rods out. Combo jigs with minnows just above the thermocline.

we use 3 rods per person usually anywhere from 5 ft rod to a 8 ft rod
we put out a light an circle it with 3 rods
i like to use same length on mine usually 6 ft one one to each side an one straight out in front of light
i have never used jigs just minners tie hook on bottom split shot above it about 8 inches split shot big
enough to hold minner down in place
what brand lights do you use? hooked to a spare battery?
I have a couple LED submersible lights, I do have a spare battery. Thanks for the info sinkum, first time I went I had 6 12 footer out and didn't do good. Ill go with my 8 amd 10 rooters this time.
