Things just happen sometimes
Like rain off and on for 3 hours with no raincoat :banghead
breaking the tip off your favorite 6 footer :banghead
combining different crappie apparel maybe ? :dono
My jacket didn't match my t shirt
My ballcap didn't match either the shirt or the jacket
but then again sometimes things just happen
the fish were bananas all over the lake again though
upper end mudwater and lower end clear water all the same thing
so many short fish it defies imagination
but the good news is we left them biting with one limit
and the bite was too fast to use 2 rods ! :yikes
the other good news is my pro bud met me on the way home with ....
a brand new very similar 6 footer :highfive
fish were holding up high in the mudwater
my newest condo was flat FULL of fish in 8 foot of water :highfive
lower lake fish were more settled and lower in the water column
tried a few different colors and not much stood out real good
got bit on just about whatever hit the water
some of my equipment is getting tired
one reel is showing its age ,but at around 30,000 assorted fish over 10 years
it tends to make me think it had a great life
she has probably seen at least a dozen or more good rods go south in her time
and she likely just needs some TLC
no worries though ,it is all good and ....

p.s. 71 degree water ,fish holding in anything under 10 foot deep ,liked it moving, shad still spawning real good all over the lake ,snakes and birds abundant as well as fish not far from the banks and on a final note ....
if you lost the slab in that one photo , no worries i found it for ya :Rofl
